Topic of the Week: Exploring Medical and Marine Technologies - The Power of Sound Waves and Frequency

Join us for an exciting week where you’ll dive into the fascinating world of sound waves and frequency technology! In this session, you’ll discover how sound is used to create ultrasound images in healthcare and how marine technology harnesses similar principles to explore the depths of our oceans & great lakes.

Program Highlights:

  • Ultrasound Technology in Healthcare: Explore how ultrasound uses sound waves to diagnose heart and vascular conditions, saving lives and improving healthcare.

  • Marine Technology: Discover how sonar and sound waves are used to navigate, study marine life, and monitor ocean health, just like how doctors use ultrasound to monitor human health.

  • The Science of Sound: Learn the science behind sound waves and frequency, and how this technology is used in both medicine and marine exploration.

  • Women in STEM: Gain the knowledge and tools to become a leader in science, technology, and innovation—whether you’re improving human health or protecting our great lakes.
